3 Tips to help maximize your small space

Updated: Jan 16, 2022

Small spaces can be tricky to navigate. In this post, I share some of the tips that always help to make the smallest spaces feel bigger.

One of our most recent workspace design client needed help to create a layout that maximized the use of her new space. Below our top tips for making a small space feel bigger are:

Use dividers/partitions to separate spaces

Dividers are a great way to maximize your space and create a modern interior. There are many types, such as glass and wood but we especially love the natural wood dividers. This beautiful wooden divider helped to define the client area and create the illusion of more space.

Add mirrors to the walls

A simple way to maximize a room's potential is to install full wall mirrors or gallery wall mirrors to help to reflect light and give the illusion of more space. Transform a room from boring and flat to stylish and polished by carefully choosing a sleek silver or gold mirror frame to add an instant pop to any small room.

Bonus Tip: Hang mirrors across from a window for the best reflection of light and effect.

Use light and neutral color palettes

Light walls and neutral flooring reflect the light from windows, making rooms feel airy, spacious, and bright. Select light paint colors from the cool blues to the warm yellows. If a room is painted in a darker color, the space will recede and make the room feel smaller. Instead, painting with lighter greens, yellows, and blues, expand the space and make it feel bigger.

If you are on a tight budget and need a quick simple way to make your space feel bigger, try these tips and transform your space in 1, 2, 3. Enjoy!
